Conference dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the births of Aleksei Kruchonykh
Organized by The State Museum of V.V. Mayakovsky (Moscow) and Gorky Institute of World Literature (Moscow).

Aleksei Kruchonykh is a well-known Russian poet and critic. Together with Khlebnikov, Kruchonykh formulated the concept of zaum (‘transrational language’; literally ‘beyond sense’ or ‘beyond the mind’). He is best known for his creation of Russian Futurist books between 1912 and 1916 in collaboration with the avant-garde artists Natal’ya Goncharova, Mikhail Larionov, Kazimir Malevich and Ol’ga Rozanova. Some of these books were written with Velimir Khlebnikov.
